Project Background: Power Monitoring for Photovoltaic Power Generation Grid-connected Projects
Project Objectives and Challenges: To collect data from EDMI protocol meters (Mk6E) to monitor photovoltaic power generation effectiveness in real time. This was achieved through low-cost, simple wiring, and wireless transmission. While data collection from State Grid protocol meters has become standard, the emergence of specialized protocol meters has increased the difficulty of data collection. On-site meters cannot be disassembled for wiring, and the external communication port remains an optical communication port (infrared communication).

一、Project implementation technical plan
In an office environment, we use the host computer acquisition software (general data acquisition software (DAQ FOR IIOT)) and near-infrared probe to test the success of R&D acquisition and solve the difficulties of protocol reading and analysis. We also test and verify the hardware products in a field environment.

R&D and testing process
Following the data acquisition principle (see figure below) of the previously promoted State Grid 4G infrared meter reading product (SC-GP-IR4G), the EDMI protocol meter product is paired with the EDMI protocol. After protocol processing, the transmission principle is identical. This ultimately achieves infrared data acquisition, 4G transmission, remote debugging and configuration support, and data integration with the customer's own platform.

3. On-site installation and data connection
On-site installation and implementation, including probe fixation, power collection, and technical remote debugging, enable data collection from EDMI meters. Using the MQTT transport protocol, the specified JSON data fields are integrated into the customer's own platform.
